BLIND RIVETS

Blind rivet is a one-piece internally threaded and counterbored tubular rivet that can be anchored entirely from one side. The main materials from which blind rivets are made are aluminum and steel. Before installation with this type of fastener, it is necessary to pre-drill a hole that is equal to or 0.1 mm larger than the diameter of the blind rivet. Rivet joints are generally used in flat materials mainly by fastening of sheet metal. Riveting is done with special pliers called riveters. During installation by using a blind rivet threader the stem is pulled and the body of the rivet is inflated and wedged. When the pulling force reaches its limit value the head of the stem breaks off and thus the riveting is completed without the possibility of breaking the joint. The two parts remain firmly pressed against each other. Blind rivets are used in tin smithing, drywall building, roof repairs and many more. They are usually used in places where only one side of the part is accessible after installation. The advantages of the rivets versus the bolts are that there is no need for any thread and they are particularly suitable for providing inseparable joints.

NUT RIVETS

Nut rivet nut is a one-piece internally threaded and counterbored tubular rivet that can be anchored entirely from one side. There are three types of rivet nuts offered by Kam 04 with the main difference of the head type. It can be flat, countersunk or hexagonal. Usually, the materials from which these fasteners are made are steel or aluminum. Their main function is fastening by riveting one or more elements. In the elements to which the rivet nut is riveted a hole with the corresponding size of the nut or 0.1 mm larger is pre-drilled. They are widely used for fixing sheet metal sheets, cladding and roof structures. The riveting itself is carried out with the help of riveters that deform the lower part of the rivet nut which prevents the assembly from being destroyed. By means of the nut rivet a connection is obtained in which the two parts adhere tightly to each other and remains a thread to which additional parts can be attached.
